Barry's Mask

Barry Napier has announced today that his novel THE MASKS OF OUR FATHERS is now available on Amazon as an e-book, and soon it will be out in print as well.

The cover looks great, and the description is intriguing:

Sounds great.  I can't wait to read it.

 

An Early Announcement

This is a bit premature, but I still wanted to go ahead and get it out there. I've been stuck in indecision so long, it feels nice to have finally made a choice.

I've been watching, intently, as this crazy phenomena called e-reading has popped up almost over night. I shouldn't be surprised. I come from the generation that went from phones with rotary dials, to touch tone, to beepers, to car phones, to giant cell phones resembling army radios, to what we have now, which is more of a mini-computer that you can make phone calls from (if you broke your thumbs and don't feel like texting with your mouth).

At first I was appalled. I hated the idea of e-books. No one would take my real-world books away. Blah, blah, blah. We were all a bit miffed back then, weren't we?.

Now, however, I see a tool that benefits both the reader and writer. I sometimes feel like a peasant, who having survived the Dark Ages, now stands with hope shining upon him like the summer sun.

And I'm not the only one.

I've commented before about Joe Konrath's blog , and the effect it has had on me. But please, don't think me a simple follower with lofty, unattainable dreams. I know that the money he's pulling down won't find its way into every self-published writer's wallet, but, truthfully, that's not what I'm going for. I only need enough so that I can turn this "hobby" into a career. That's all I'm asking for -- though I won't turn away the cash if it shows up on my doorstep.

Another fellow writer, Barry Napier, posted a couple days ago that he is going to try his hand at self-publishing, and Aaron Polson just posted about being a 21st Century Digital Boy. I know that there are several others that have already or are going to try soon. It's an exciting time to write.

So, with that bit of ranting out of the way, I would like to announce that I too will soon be throwing my hat into the self-publishing arena with my paranormal thriller Guarding the Healer. I know that success won't come overnight. Just like most things, this wall will only go up brick by brick.

I do not have a release date, yet, but when I do, you'll be one of the first to know.
