Waiting truly IS the hardest part. I've had to delay the release of GUARDING THE HEALER due to unforeseen events. The person that is doing my cover art had a system crash, and now is behind schedule. Hopefully the cover will come through any day now (and I'll love it completely and have no suggestions to improve it).
I know that those going the traditional publishing route have to wait much longer for their books to find the light, and I've been tempered by years of submitting short stories, waiting months only to find out the publication went defunct, but I still CAN'T HELP IT.
I feel like I've waited years to publish this novel . . . oh, wait, I have. I'm eager to start this part of my journey, and being this close is possibly driving me crazy. It's definitely turning me into a grouch, as my wife will bear witness to.
In other "Me Writing Stuff", I've decided to hold off on submitting any more short stories for a while. In an attempt to increase my virtual bookshelf I've decided to release a collection of short stories (I believe I've mentioned this before), that will be composed of stories that I have had published, plus a few new ones. I haven't settled on a title yet, and I'm working on the cover art myself, so this should be an adventure.
Now that I've bored you with my non-news, here's what's happening over yonder.
Over at Kindle Review they discuss People's Champion vs Publisher's Champion. It may be a bit skewed toward indie authors, but it's still a good read.
Nathan Bransford weighs in on the tightrope each writer must face in his post Separating Confidence From Self-Doubt.
Aaron Polson is playing Dr. Frankenstein.
Barry Napier has a lot going on and something has to give.
And, finally, if you're looking for a proofreader, Joe Konrath has just the person for you.
So, until we meet again, I'll be waiting.
